Lizzie Chadbourne, MPH is a sociomedical researcher, writer, abortion doula, artist, facilitator, and community organizer. Her interdisciplinary work centers care, bodily autonomy, and reproductive and disability justice, and the patterns that connect them. Moral and religious ideas about health and reproduction recur across history and reappear in media, movements, and institutions. She studies these patterns to interrupt them by imagining more just ways of caring for one another.
Committed especially to expanding abortion access for medically complex and disabled people, she is a founding member of New York Abortion Doulas, an abortion storyteller with We Testify, and an organizer with NYC for Abortion Rights. She writes and speaks about abortion, disability, autism, and the politics of technology, public health, and care, and has led workshops nationally on abortion access, disability justice, and community care.
Across these roles, her focus is synthesis: making complex ideas about health and care accessible while ensuring accuracy and honoring nuance.
